Maxbowls
Designed by Lella and Massimo Vignelli, the Maxbowls reflect the designers’ belief that everyday objects should combine beauty, practicality, and intelligent design. Introduced as part of the Max collection, the bowls feature clean architectural lines and a precisely engineered rim that allows them to stack neatly into compact columns—keeping cabinets organized while maintaining a striking visual simplicity.
At five inches in diameter, the bowls are perfectly sized for a wide range of meals, from cereal and soup to salads, pasta, and desserts. Their versatile scale makes them equally suited for daily dining, casual entertaining, and small-space living.
First created in 1964 and later introduced by Heller in 1971, the Max collection quickly became a design classic. Today, the stackable dinnerware remains part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
